Backgammon Instruction
Backgammon is an ancient and exciting game of strategy and luck, played by two players. The goal is to move all your checkers into your home board and then bear them off the board before your opponent does. The game combines skillful strategy with the randomness of dice rolls, making each game unique and full of suspense.
The game is played on a board divided into 24 triangular points. Each player starts with 15 checkers placed on specific points, and the dice determine how far your checkers can move. Players take turns rolling two dice and moving their checkers according to the numbers rolled. The board is divided into four quadrants, with each player’s home board being the last six points.
You can land on an open point, one occupied by your checkers, or a point with only one of your opponent’s checkers, which you can hit. When a checker is hit, it’s sent to the bar, and the player must re-enter it into the game on the opponent's side.
To win, you must move all your checkers into your home board and then bear them off. Bearing off means removing checkers from the board once they're in your home quadrant. The first player to bear off all their checkers wins.
