Chess Rules
Chess rules are easier than they look. Two people face off on a 64-square board, and the player with the light pieces goes first. Everyone starts with a king, a queen, and eight pawns. Rooks, bishops, and knights come in twos. Rooks go straight, bishops go diagonally, and the queen does both. Knights hop two squares plus one to the side, even over other pieces. The king takes one step, and pawns move ahead but capture diagonally. The aim is to trap the enemy king so it has no safe move left.
